Wei Phin Tan, MD, MHS, FACS
Dr. Wei Phin Tan is a board-certified urologic oncologist at NYU Langone Health, Main Campus, and Assistant Professor of Urology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
He is the first urologist in New York State to integrate ARTERA AI precision testing for prostate cancer and was the first surgeon at NYU Langone and in Manhattan to perform Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) ablation. He also utilizes Decipher genomic testing to personalize prostate cancer care.
Dr. Tan performs 500+ transperineal prostate biopsies per year in an office-based setting under local anesthesia, with published low pain scores. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and completed his urologic oncology fellowship at Duke University, where he also earned a Master of Health Science (MHS) in Clinical Research Methods.
He has authored 80+ peer-reviewed publications and delivered 120+ invited talks and meeting presentations worldwide, including plenary sessions at AUA, WCE, the Focal Therapy Society, and UROFAIR. He is a recipient of the NCI Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Grant and serves as Course Director for the World Congress of Endourology.
